in Portillo is nearly as important as the skiing. Our master
chef Rafael Figueroa creates wonderful, hearty, healthy meals
using Chiles excellent fish, seafood, fruits, vegetables
and wines, as well as Argentinas wonderful beef and
lamb. Vegetarian alternatives are excellent and always available
as Portillos owner is a vegetarian.
guests get hungry so we serve four meals per day including tea from
5 to 6pm. Dinner is served late in the Chilean custom, first seating
at 8:30pm and second seating at 9:45 pm. Our North American guests
who are accustomed to eating early should eat something during the
tea hour and then dine again later with all our guests at 8:30 pm
(mainly families) or 9:45 pm (adults).
The dining room
is a wonderful space. It is a very large room with huge windows
overlooking the lake. It's leather walls date back fifty years.
Our Maitre D, Juan Beiza, gives guests a table and assigns
waiters and bus boys for the week and it is not long before guests
are feeling right at home, making their special requests, and inviting
other guests to join them at their table for the evening.

TV. Since the best way to enjoy Portillo is to take full advantage
of the multitude of activities we offer, most of our guests use
their rooms for naps, sleep and romance, and if they want to see
TV it is found in the cinema or disco.

so be sure to bring a transformer if you bring your own electronics.
Hairdryers are available from your floor housekeeping staff or you

with whatever you need when ever you need it, whether it is a quick
cold drink, a band-aid, laundry or a mending job. The housekeepers
live on each floor and they are among the world’s nicest people.
Lake rooms are available with two twin beds or one queen size
bed. These rooms overlook the spectacular Inca Lake, adding an unparalleled
beauty to your stay. Double Lake rooms offer a full bath and can
be rented as singles for a premium.

Lake 6th Floor overlook the beautiful Inca Lake and come with
a balcony and larger windows. The view of the Lake and the attractiveness
of the balcony make the Double Lake 6th floor rooms some of our most
requested. These rooms can be rented as singles for a premium.

of friends or people travelling alone to Portillo. The Octagon is
the best value option in Portillo and is only 50 steps from the
Hotel. Guests in the Octagon Lodge enjoy all of the hotel’s
services including meals in the main dining room.
